I know y’all already know but can I just say on the record that as a religious person I am opposed to the supreme court’s decision that the Cuomo’s restrictions on houses of worship are unconstitutional. It’s insane to me that houses of worship are holding indoor prayer services. I haven’t stepped foot in a synagogue building since March. Does it suck? Yes. But that’s because there’s a pandemic, not because restrictions are unreasonable. I’ve gone to multiple outdoor prayer services and multiple zoom prayer services. Gorsuch complained that bike shops are allowed to remain open and therefore it’s unfair that houses of worship have to close, but bike shops provide an extremely necessary service in a time when public transit isn’t safe. He also mentioned other businesses that are allowed to be open, like wine shops, and you know what? Those should be closed too except for curbside.
Imagine being in the middle of a pandemic that’s already killed a quarter of a million Americans and choosing to insist on making things more dangerous. Fuck Gorsuch, fuck Barrett, fuck Republicans in general.
